RSU - road-side unit

RSU (Road-side unit) allows various road traffic devices to communicate with vehicles around

Standardized V2X interface

C2X/V2X (C2X = V2X) communication is a European standard that allows the vehicles to be informed about various aspects of the current traffic situation via the traffic infrastructure elements and, last but not least, allows them to influence the traffic (via priority at intersections). Of course, our traffic infrastructure communication unit meets the strict ETSI standards for C2X/V2X technology, including high standards for security and for certified signatures.

Priority for public transport and emergency vehicles

The RSU ensures preference at intersections for public transport vehicles and emergency vehicles (i.e. ambulance, fire brigade, etc.). It functions essentially as a communication unit for the intersection controller. In this situation, it informs the controller about the surrounding traffic and also transmits to the controller the instructions for granting priority to the above mentioned vehicles, based on the request sent by their on-board units (OBUs).

Our proven technology
We have completed several years of deployment in real operation (within the C-ROADS programme in Brno). In top of that we have successfully passed demanding international tests (ETSI Plugtest, BiDiMoVe). We offer a proven product that has succesfully finished more than just a test phase. With a V2X interface fully compatible with C-ROADS standards, our RSU unit can be deployed regardless of the on-board unit supplier.
Effective communication

Our RSU (road-side unit) ensures via V2X the communication of the infrastructure with the vehicles and at the same time provides the current information about the traffic situation to its control elements. In addition, it transmits to oncoming vehicles the controller’s signal plan and the intersection topology.

Fast data connection

Communication with the central elements of the transport infrastructure can be solved either via gigabit Ethernet or via LTE modem. In this way, traffic data can be transmitted to and from vehicles. LTE is also used for remote monitoring and transmission of operational data.

Connection to current infrastructure

Our solution is ready to be connected to a transportation center or C-ITS Back-office server. It has a fast Ethernet bus for new installations as well as RS-485 for communication with the original infrastructure. For the management and monitoring of traffic data we offer the server software “Anbos”.
