OBU - unit for vehicles

OBU unit carefully designed with the needs of public transport and emergency vehicles in mind.

OBU without antennas
Standardized V2X interface

V2X communication is a European standard that allows vehicles to communicate in a decentralized way among each other as well as to communicate with other elements of the traffic infrastructure. Our UCU 5.0V on-board unit naturally meets the strict C-ROADS standards for V2X technology, including the  associated standards for security and communication with a PKI.

Priority for special vehicles

The on-board unit (OBU) is a solution for public transport and emergency vehicle prioritization at signalized intersections. It controls the transmission of priority requests and processes the responses. It works on the basis of its own configuration and communication with the on-board computer, from which it receives data about the route.  The OBU transmits subsequently back the information regarding the prioritization requests.

Remote administration and monitoring

Our system allows the deployment of server monitoring system “AnBos”, which is designed for evaluation and processing of data from the traffic operation. It allows the setting and managing of the prioritization for public transport vehicles, as well as instant evaluation of the data from actual traffic. The unit itself is also delivered with a sophisticated web-based application.

WI-FI for passengers

Our UCU 5.0V unit is equipped with a powerful Wi-Fi access point that can support 802.11ac with the speeds up to 1300 Mbit/s. Of course, the Wi-Fi provides the vehicle´s passengers an access to the internet via powerfull LTE connection. The unit supports the captive portal function and other settings for additional security.

Higher traffic safety

The system ensures that the driver is warned by other vehicles or by the RSU (Road-side unit). The driver knows in time that other vehicles are braking hard, that an emergency vehicle is oncoming, about the recently started road works or bad weather, e.g. icy road.  Even the OBU itself can warn surrounding vehicles.

Our proven technology

To make us sure, that our product is fully interoperable we have joined and successfully passed international tests (ETSI Plugtest, BiDiMoVe). But…  After years of deployment in real traffic (e. g. within the C-ROADS projects in Brno), we can  offer you a product that has successfully finished much more than just a test phase.
